Talents
The system allows you to create as many talents as you your needs dictate. Even though all codes that you setup are considered talents, they can really cover 3 different areas.
- Talents: These relate to a special skill or trade that a person has. Like they are an Accountant, they work with Computers, they may be a Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter or Plumber. If there is a sudden need (either with your church, or even a member of your church) you can quickly find a list of people that have the skills to help.
- Spiritual Gifts: As you ministry grows it will require more effort from members of your congregation. As you become aware of your different members spiritual gifts, you can record them. Then as you your church as needs, you can draw from a larger pool instead of the one or two obvious people that can help. This will help to encourage growth and development through participation. It will also spread out the work so no one will be over burned or get "burned out".
- Interests: When working with prospective members, it is easiest to keep them interested if they find someone that they can "connect" with in the church. The best "connection" is a common interest or hobby. If you find a prospect that is interested in bowling, building model airplanes, or maybe there passion is cooking. If you can introduce them to someone in your church that has a similar passion, then the "mentoring" process is well on its way.
As you setup your codes for your church, you can decide what areas are important you help you achieve your mission. You can setup your codes so that you can report on groups of talents categories. You taylor the system to meet your needs.
